There’s no question that residents of Guilford County and those across the North Carolina are eating out more now that pandemic fears have subsided. In fact, a new study just released found that, in the last three months, North Carolinians have been eating out 7 percent more than in the previous quarter.
However, one question remains: Of all the delectable choices for fast-food dining in the state, which one gets the most love from North Carolina diners? Which one reigns supreme in terms of drawing the most customers?
Well, recently, Food Service Direct – a giant national marketplace for bulk goods and food – joined with a data analysis firm to determine the most sought-after fast food and casual dining in the state.
And the winner is, (drum roll please): In North Carolina, Chick-fil-A is the most visited restaurant. (Though it has the hardest name to spell correctly, that hasn’t dimmed the public’s enthusiasm.)
According to the analytics company here are the “Most Popular Chain and Casual Dining Restaurants in North Carolina.”
(1) Chick-fil-A
(2) Wendy’s
(3) Bojangles’
(4) Taco Bell
(5) Burger King
(6) Zaxby’s
(7) Hardee’s

While the top 10 choices are all places people are likely to drive thru, the next ten are places were diners frequently sit down and enjoy a meal on site. Here are the current favorites that fill out the top 20 from the study.

Eat up, fatties!
No McDonalds?
compare the line length @ cook-out to any of these fast food joints mentioned. the triad needs a healthier version of cook-out?
Popeye’s Chikin sandwich, Hardee’s fried chickin & biscuits, Burger King Whopper, Sonic shakes, Panera bread.
Nix on many of these: Zaxby, Cracker Barrell, Waffle House.
I know a lot depends the the individual store’s management, as several of these have run me off, never to return. We usually don’t eat fast food, as most of it is unhealthy, so I am not a good judge.
Yes, the food is pretty good but a better draw are the people that work there. They are well trained, very polite, outstanding greeting and provide the hey I’m coming back here to customers. Far superior to the majority of fast food restaurants. I hope they continue to make it a go to restaurant .
But when your kid is really sick, and you’ve got to spend a few weeks at the hospital caring for them, it’s not the Chick-fil-A house that will take you in. Chick-fil-A won’t be bring in meals. Chick-fil-A won’t be handing you coupons for the nights that you have to stay bedside with your child.
Chick-fil-A gets the praise that McDonald’s has actually earned.
Careful. Someone might accuse you of being a (fill in the blank)-ist with statements like that.
Where is McDonald’s, this is funny!!!
Chick-fil-A is owned by a God fearing family. Good enough for me. We need one on the south side of Greensboro.
Biscuitville not on the list?
Invalid list.
What about Cook Out?
Only one pizza joint on here? And it’s not The Hut or Papa’s or Dominoes, don’t they all deliver?
Culver’s? There isn’t even one in Greensboro and only 13 in the whole state! They must be really good or cost effective to beat out Cookout and McDonalds unless you live in Raleigh, Charlotte or Winston-Salem.
Everyone has their favorite———-junque food.
