Once or twice a month, the Guilford County Sherriff’s Department is so anxious to find someone that it turns to the public for help, and, on Thursday, Sept. 17, the department did just that in order to find a suspected thief who’s possibly armed and is on the run. Recently, he seems to have been in Greensboro, Stokesdale and Rockingham County and he’s presumably still in the central North Carolina area.

On Thursday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Department sent out a photo, seen above, and announced that detectives with the department are attempting to track down and arrest the suspect who’s currently wanted for two separate thefts from a motor vehicle.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, after committing theft at 8205 B & G Court in Stokesdale, the suspect – Carl Watson – fled from a traffic stop. That was on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

At that time, Watson was in a truck that was reported stolen out of Greensboro and there were two firearms inside the truck when it was reported stolen. The truck was recovered in Rockingham County late Thursday evening.

Watson is a white male who was born on Valentine’s Day in 1993, which makes him 27 years old.

The description from the department adds that he’s approximately 5’10” tall with “a slender build” and “with numerous arm and neck tattoos.”

Watson is known to frequent Rockingham and Guilford County and could pose a danger to others. If anyone knows the suspect’s whereabouts, the department says do not attempt to approach him, but instead to call 911 to report his location along with any additional information.
