Another day, another Dollar… or to be more precise, another act of barbaric wanton violence that victimized the innocent, on public transportation.
Iryna Zarutska just got on a train to go home. She was stabbed to death by an animal who didn’t belong in civilized society.
Yesterday nearly a dozen people were viciously attacked on a train near Cambridge, England.
Half of them are fighting for their lives in ICUs. The “lucky” ones are merely left with debilitating lifelong injuries.
The British police and media are at pains to stress that the perpetrators are “British”. I had to do a lot of digging to learn that the attackers are 32 and 35 year old negroes. If that term is now one of the many considered offensive, I apologise. They can’t be called African-American, “British-African” is not a term, and one is from the Caribbean anyway. And negro is the correct term for their race.
In other words, there isn’t a British bone in their bodies. The media are lying.
I resent attempts to deceive and manipulate how we think, but this kind of systemic misinformation has become routine in the UK.
Ronald Reagan once said that freedom is only ever one generation away from extinction. How true.
When I was a boy, Britain was a free country and the British people were proud and jealous of their rights and liberties. Many of our best had laid down their lives to preserve them. We could say anything we liked, no matter how outre or radical.
But an effete and indoctrinated generation has casually surrendered their liberties in the cause of “community”, or “safety”, or “racial comity”.
Several dozen people are arrested every day in today’s Britain for “hate speech”. Really.
If I were still in Britain I could probably expect a visit from the police for this letter. We used to laugh at totalitarian countries like East Germany for this. Now it takes place in England.
This is how a free country loses its freedom – incrementally, one law at a time. For years I have been telling my brother that Britain is a totalitarian country. He used to laugh.
He doesn’t laugh any more.
Thank God we have a written constitution here. I am lucky and grateful to be living in America.

UK’s attack on speech is appalling. Trump would like to do the same here to silence his opposition, but luckily free speech is so far well protected even by the current conservative SCOTUS.
I do caution from falling into the trap of hate that Austin has fallen into which uses single events to demonize an entire class of people. He has a long history of sharing his hatred of the immigrants back in his homeland (and here) and likes to use single one-off events to make the case that immigrants are a lessor class of people hurting the culture of cities such as London. Of course, data and studies point to very different perspectives on the question of the correlation between immigrants and violent crime.

The fact is, obamacare has risen 60% in the last decade. The insurance companies are making a fortune at taxpayer expense.
You think ACA is the source of the rising cost of healthcare? You would have to provide some perspective or a valid source on how you think that is happening?
Quick internet search says you are wrong in that assumption. Per analysis published in JAMA, health care costs have continued to increase since President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010, they’ve done so at a slower rate than in the years before the law was passed.

Remember when ole Nancy said ‘we had to pass the bill before we see what is in the bill,’ Republicans and anyone with an ounce of a functioning brain material knew that OBAMA Care (the ACA acronym that you and other lib dems use) is the government take over of health care. dems like it because Illegal Aliens can get free medical care paid for by American citizens. By the way, Illegal Aliens is the official federal government identification of people who violate our federal laws and cross illegally into our country. Recent news reports state premiums are going UP by 26% to 100%. Chris, is that what YOU voted for when OBAMA CARE was ramed down the throats of the American people? I hope not.
Undocumented immigrants only access to healthcare is emergency room care. Are you recommending doctors turn away people in medical crisis if they can’t provide immigration documentation? THAT is just another example of the evil within the conservative mindset.
Premiums are going up because Conservatives are fighting hard to make sure, they go up by canceling the subsidies that were added during Covid. Since when did government take over healthcare? Never. They haven’t even taken over insurance as these plans are all run by for-profits insurance companies.
Have you ever heard of Medicaid or Medicare? You hate government involvement in health insurance, do you want to cancel those programs too?
Also Note Ken that immigrants who let their documentation expire are not criminals. THAT is a civil offense. The official US term is undocumented immigrants.
Ken, you are just another conservative making complaints using the ugly talking points and misinformation fed to you by people hungry for power (the word sheep comes to mind). I noticed very clearly you offer no alternative perspective for offering affordable insurance for working class people not covered by employer sponsored plans.

Catch-and-release does not reduce crime. The Charlotte police released arrest records for a 15-year-old who has been arrested 111 times in the past two years, with 7 charges of stolen property, 45 charges of larceny from an auto, and 55 charges of auto theft—all thanks to Roy Cooper and Josh Stein’s soft-on-crime policies.
This is one case with I strongly agree with you…handling of juvenile crime in these cases where kids have clearly taken on a crime center lifestyle should be addressed much sooner and much more aggressively by our Judicial system.
With that said, I don’t agree that we have a growing crime problem in NC with our current leadership given the following stats for Charlotte as an example….
,,,Homicides in the county are down 24% since 2024, aggravated assaults dropped by 19% and robberies are down 22%. Overall crime dropped by 8%, including a 20% reduction in violent crime and a 5% dip in property crime, according to CMPD data. Fix the above-mentioned problem in our legal process and these numbers get even better!

Looking at a decade-long view, the murder rate in North Carolina spiked by 72% between 2013 and 2023, and violent crime rates are still at elevated levels compared to the decade before 2013
What’s interesting is that violent crime rate overall was flat during the same time period. 375 in 2022 and 373 in 2010. Wonder what made the violent crime more deadly over the same period (53% increase from 2010 to 2022). More guns? More gangs? Not sure.
