Left Rewriting History
Dear Editor,
June 2, 2023 will be a dark day in local history.
On that day they will officially cave to the leader of the (National Socialist) Democrat Party and change the name of Fort Bragg to Fort Liberty. On Friday, the name of Fort Pickett will be changing. These are the opening shots in the liberal left’s war to change … no, rewrite and expunge from American history things they believe hurts people’s feelings and make another down payment to their masters.
I already know PG Chris and his ilk will begin their diatribe of calling me racist, a hater and other such nonsense. People that know me know they are so full of it their eyes are brown, and know I am the least prejudiced person you will ever meet. I hold everyone regardless of their sex, race, creed, beliefs or sexual orientation in equal contempt. (That’s a joke, folks.) I used to tell my troops when they complained, look deep into my eyes and tell me if you see a little man jumping up and down screaming, “I care.”
I would like to point out that communist countries like Russia have not only destroyed monuments of the people they find inconvenient to be reminded of, they have gone so far as to change the names of cities in an attempt to rewrite history. (Oops, did I just give away the next step in the (NS)DP plan to “… fundamentally change America” per Obama)
Winston Churchill said it best: “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
The new (NS)DP motto, “1984: We’re 40 years late, but we got there”

I have never called you anything of those things (racist, a hater and other such nonsense). Now if you had said ‘narrow minded’ sheep of the modern Republican party. THAT I would agree with… And angry little man…. whenever you are being especially over the top in your anti-democrat rhetoric.
But what history are the Democrats rewriting? Are they white-washing the American history of slavery and racism under the misused context of CRT? That is what the republicans are doing with their recent bill in NC (last time vetoed by our Govenor). THAT is rewriting history. Doesn’t seem to bother you at all I noticed. Hmmmmm.

Changing the name of places happens all the time. I personally don’t care what they call fort Bragg. Changing the name is silly given most people have little to no idea who Bragg was in a historical sense. But to say Democrats are rewriting history is as silly. If you want to say that changing the name is overreach by overly racial sensitive liberals, then you would be on to something. But as usual you use overly aggressive rhetoric because that is the echo chamber that I assume you surround yourself with every day.
But you be you. That is what freedom is all about.
Oh, and Alan, I sold my home in PG and bought a farm outside of PG so maybe call me Farmer Chris from now on since PG Chris is no longer accurate.

It is a small minded, fragile person, who feels he has to eradicate another’s experience, or history, or anything that offends him, or trifles with his feelings.
Mr.Marshall titles his diatribe as a compaibtsnd warning against the “re-writing” of history yet ignores a simple fact: the traitors that comprised the confederacy lost.
Isn’t it more logical to conclude that the renaming of these public sites is a long overdue correction of a wrong perpetrated during the darkest days of racism in this country?
Finally, shouldn’t it be the goal of each of us, individually and as a society, to right the wrongs that were perpetrated by our ancestors in their ignorance? Do we really believe that our country would purposely honor those who committed acts of treason against us as well as acts of unimaginable violence and hate against those of us with a darker complexion?
What kind of despicable human being do you have to be to fight the righting of such wrongs? Please Mr. Marshall- dig deep and be better.

Man, I wish my life was so perfect that I had the free time and energy to write letters to the paper* about menial matters such as the renaming of an Army facility ! Alan, your life is great!!
