The Greensboro City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 has been postponed to Tuesday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
The City of Greensboro has also announced that from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, office hours will be modified. City offices will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The city is also requesting that people avoid visiting city facilities and use alternative methods of conducting business with the city such as phone, email or regular mail.
City Manager David Parrish said, “We continue to follow the guidance of state and federal officials, as we evaluate our operations and services. We are canceling all non-essential city-sponsored public events.”
The city has established a COVD-19 webpage, www.greensboro-nc.gov/COVID-19, to help people keep up with the latest news, cancelations, postponements and service changes.

The Reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 is cancelled.
The Parks and Recreation Public Meeting on the Country Park Project on Saturday, March 14 has been postponed.
The Greensboro Public Libraries and the Greensboro History Museum will be open during the modified hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. However, all events and meeting room bookings are canceled through April 15.
Library Director Brigitte Blanton is encouraging people to visit the Greensboro Library’s virtual branch online. She said, “During this challenging time, we wanted to encourage you to check out the library’s many online resources and services, including e-books an e-audiobooks; virtual story times, streaming TV, movie and music services; and digital subscriptions to newspapers and magazines.”
