The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has announced that on Wednesday, June 25, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force, working with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, concluded a narcotics investigation and nabbed two people and over two pounds of fentanyl.
One of those arrested was a teacher at Southern Guilford Middle School: Saadia Marie-Denise Owen, 32, (pictured above) was arrested and charged with the following:
- Felony Level 3 Trafficking Fentanyl (2 counts)
- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for the Keeping or Selling of Controlled Substances
According to the Sheriff’s Office, at the time of her arrest, Owen was a teacher at Southern Guilford Middle School located on Drake Road in Greensboro.
She’s now being held in the Rowan County jail under a secured bond of $3 million.
In all, the busts got 1,250 grams of fentanyl off the streets.
Also arrested as part of the investigation was Jordan Allen Jefferson, a 37-year-old male who was hit with these charges:
- Felony Aiding and Abetting (3 counts)
- Felony Level 3 Trafficking Fentanyl
- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for the Keeping or Selling of Controlled Substances
- Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Jefferson is currently being held under no bond in the Guilford County jail in Greensboro.
There have been a whole lot of high-profile drug arrests in Guilford County in the first half of 2025. Often those busts have involved a lot of state and area agencies working together.
Recently, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced the formation of a new “Guilford County Narcotics Task Force” along with other area law enforcement agencies. That new law enforcement entity was officially announced by Guilford County Sheriff Danny Rogers and Greensboro Police Chief John Thompson at a press conference on Monday, June 2.
The Task Force consists of the Sheriff’s Office, the Greensboro Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the NC State Bureau of Investigation.
There was already a great deal of cooperation among area law enforcement agencies to fight drugs before those efforts were solidified into an official task force to fight the sale and distribution of cocaine, opioids and other illegal drugs.
According to a Thursday, June 26 statement from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, “Reducing fentanyl-related overdoses and deaths remains a core objective of the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force. This seizure may have saved lives and sends a strong message to those trafficking deadly drugs in our community.”
The office also stated that, since this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be provided at this time.
Of course there is an added level of concern in this situation since one of those arrested worked with middle school students.

Government schools are an open sewer.
many are doing quite well & can prove it. fix me up with online tutoring, testing, then legit certifications for a negotiated fee. bring back La Salle extension university for young & old. my dad used them successfully.

When you learn to write English intelligibly, we’ll take you seriously.
what is this thing: * an anus ? yours ? better come get it, u might need it
Now you’ve really reached the bottom….
I have said it before, and I’ll say it again. Drug dealers kill people. Twenty years in prison minimum first offense, death penalty second offense.
I think far more! We are talking Murder.
I’m in total agreement with you. She was found with enough fentanyl to potentially kill 600 people and she’s a school teacher no less. I’d also bet this wasn’t her first rodeo, just the first time she was caught
I believe a lot of the decline in the availability of Fentanyl resulted from President Trump’s Administration closing the Borders and deporting Illegals who worked with the Cartels. You won’t read that in the MSM though.
Every city and county employee should have to be drug tested.
This is what passes for a “teacher”? And the Guilford County Commission says we tax payers should support and give more of our assets to support the school system?
Amen! And they wonder why public school attendance is shrinking.
Let me channel Chris for a moment:
This is a sad commentary on the state of education in North Carolina. Even though over half of our revenue goes to education in this state, the poor oppressed teachers must turn to dealing in drugs in order to survive. Conservatives all to often take exception to money being spent on education and always push for a niggardly allocation of funds. This problem of drug dealing teachers can only be solved by budgeting more money to education. I’m sure that if this is done everything will get sorted and as a bonus, NC students may even learn how to read and write….
— Brilliant! And really funny. Thanks, Dan.
Da iawn!
Hope the local liberal judges give more than a pat on the hand. Does the school sytem have no stringent background checks? I don’t want Skip’s new and potential tax plan to pay teachers of this caliber an extra penny in salary. Guessing Guilford County School System should at least attempt to hire something better than a drug dealer.
Lock her up and throw away the key.
1,250 grams is enough to kill more than 625,000 adults, much less school age children. Let that sink in & let me know how great a job government ran schools are doing at safely educating your children.
Meanwhile their liberal and DEI policies have filled the place with drug dealers, pedophiles, homosexuals & blue haired freaks who just love teaching.
A thorough house cleaning is long overdue.
According to that theory we should be paying Bank Robbers not to rob Banks. I believe another City tried to pay Criminals NOT to commit crimes. I don’t think it worked. Surprise!
Glad the county drug task force apprehended this less than desirable individual. Should charge her federally.
School is out for vacation. Sounds like this was just her summer gig.
There are bad apples everywhere. Now, even more so, everyday. Not limited to any race or group. The decline of ethics and morality contributes to the destruction of our Republic.
How can this lady get a teaching job, not just in Guilford County, but elsewhere. Maybe the school system doesn’t do enough research on those they hire, as long as they have the “qualifications” to get them hired. If I were part of the school board, I’d look into this one for sure.
