The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday, Dec. 7 that a narcotics investigation ended with a major bust that turned up drugs, cash and guns at a north Greensboro address.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, Nov. 6, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 406 Fairmile Drive in Greensboro. That is off of North Church Street, north of Woods of Terror.
The search turned up:
- 138 grams of cocaine
- 4,523 grams of marijuana
- $328,380 in US currency
- 8 firearms – 4 of which were reported stolen
At the conclusion of the investigation, 34-year-old Jaquan Mondrian Hampton was charged with:
- Felony Trafficking Cocaine
- Felony Possession With Intent To Sell Or Deliver Marijuana
- Possession with intent to sell of deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances
- Maintain A Dwelling/Vehicle For Controlled Substances
- Possession Of A Stolen Firearm
The Sheriff’s Office stated that Hampton received a $250,000 secured bond and “has since been released” from the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro.
The Sheriff’s Office didn’t provide additional details on the length of the investigation, what first drew investigators to the Fairmile Drive address or whether anyone else may face charges in connection with the case.
The seizure represents a substantial haul for county narcotics officers – not only in drugs, but also in cash and guns. Four of the eight seized firearms were listed as stolen, which ties the case into a long-running concern for local law enforcement: stolen weapons that end up circulating through the local drug trade.

Great job Scott reporting news
8 guns / 4 stolen. Hopefully the Sheriff’s office will partner with the ATF and get the guy charged with Federal Drug and Weapons charges. His pocket change got him out of jail and he is probably back in business or going to Idaho under a different name. The Sheriff’s office needs to act quickly. Maybe the bow tie cowboy will do the right thing and then put out another press release, or he might be too busy dancing at a Christmas Parade.
Don’t forget the cowboy hat. . .which he thinks makes him look good. . . …but in reality, people laugh about it.
But Danny doesn’t worry. . .he has the east Greensboro vote locked up.
One less to feed delicious, hot meals with a comfortable stay in one of the guest rooms. Apparently, arrestee isn’t considered a flight risk. Hmm, cell phone ID, Pass Port – the good life of the rich & infamous – book deal forthcoming.
I would cough up the $250,000 and disappear. So much for the bond.
OMG. This is news that we need to know. Thanks.
If you do the crime, you should do the time! A $250,000 bail for the scope of this crime is a absolute joke! Guilford County District Attorney Avery Crump should be in jail not in office!
Avery Crump won’t make it difficult for one of her “bros”, which means she won’t attach a huge bond on him.
Bets he will not show up for his scheduled court date?
Does this seem stupid to me only??? This guy had over 330,000 in cash. Why the heck would his secured bond be less than the cash he had on hand. Why would this bail not be 1 million dollars???
It’s Greensboro! What did you expect?
It’s the district attorney Crump and she may be friends with the felon.
Is Mr. Hampton a convicted felon?
You can find that answer for yourself online. It’s free
I would expect that the sheriff’s department to release that information.
Sadly he is probably only one of a multitude engaged in this line of work in Guilford County.
Joe Bucket you can rest assured that this character is one of many just in Guilford County. A $250000 bond for this kind of offense? You have got to be kidding me. This guy is, in effect a murderer. What part of that does the person who set this ridiculous bond not understand? The bond should have been at least five million.
This isn’t news, it’s everyday. The only thing different is this is an election year for the Sheriff & they decide to make everything except internal screw ups instant news this year.
