The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office announced on Sunday, Dec. 7 that a narcotics investigation ended with a major bust that turned up drugs, cash and guns at a north Greensboro address.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, Nov. 6, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 406 Fairmile Drive in Greensboro.  That is off of North Church Street, north of Woods of Terror.

The search turned up:

  • 138 grams of cocaine
  • 4,523 grams of marijuana
  • $328,380 in US currency
  • 8 firearms – 4 of which were reported stolen

At the conclusion of the investigation, 34-year-old Jaquan Mondrian Hampton was charged with:

  • Felony Trafficking Cocaine
  • Felony Possession With Intent To Sell Or Deliver Marijuana
  • Possession with intent to sell of deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances
  • Maintain A Dwelling/Vehicle For Controlled Substances
  • Possession Of A Stolen Firearm

The Sheriff’s Office stated that Hampton received a $250,000 secured bond and “has since been released” from the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro.

The Sheriff’s Office didn’t provide additional details on the length of the investigation, what first drew investigators to the Fairmile Drive address or whether anyone else may face charges in connection with the case.

The seizure represents a substantial haul for county narcotics officers – not only in drugs, but also in cash and guns. Four of the eight seized firearms were listed as stolen, which ties the case into a long-running concern for local law enforcement: stolen weapons that end up circulating through the local drug trade.
