According to a Tuesday, Nov. 18 news release from Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force wrapped up an investigation last month that led to a major drug seizure at a northeast Greensboro home.
On Tuesday, Oct. 7, officers executed a search warrant at 2706 Northampton Drive in Greensboro. That search turned up roughly 56 pounds of marijuana and $305,263 in US currency.
Also, four firearms were found inside the home.
At the conclusion of the investigation, 30-year-old Malik Rashaud Moseley (pictured above) was arrested and charged in connection with the case.
Moseley faces two counts of felony trafficking in marijuana, one count of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and one count of felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substances.
Following his arrest, Moseley received a $25,000 secured bond.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, he has since been released from jail.
The Sheriff’s Office news release stated that the operation was the work of the Guilford County Narcotics Task Force – a standing partnership that brings together local, state and federal resources for drug enforcement cases. The task force includes personnel from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, the Greensboro Police Department, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Cases like this one are typically built over time, with investigators using a mix of surveillance, tips and other investigative tools before moving in with a search warrant. In this instance, the task force’s work ultimately ended with the seizure of bulk marijuana, a large amount of cash and multiple firearms from the Northampton Drive address.
The Sheriff’s Office didn’t release any additional information about the investigation, such as how long the case had been underway, whether others might be charged or what led agents to focus on that particular residence.
Those questions may be answered later as the case makes its way through the court system.
For now, the Sheriff’s Office is emphasizing the cooperative nature of the task force and the volume of drugs removed from circulation as a result of the search.

Excellent job! Great team work! Get the drugs off the streets, out of the hands of gangs, thugs and juveniles. Why has this individual been released? Has our justice system failed us? Yes, a $25,000 secured bond, what an insult.
Yup. If it were me, I’d skip out for $25,000.
It was a lot of Marijuana true, but it’s not like it was crack or heroine. Legal in some parts of North Carolina. So why shouldn’t he be allowed bond. People are doing some crazy stuff now because it’s hard to make ends meet. And for all you know this may have been his first offense. As far as firearms, I own 3 myself because I live alone in the country. It’s called protection.
Audrey when you are dealing drugs having a firearm is a major felony. As well as the
300 +k should be reported to the IRS as unreported income. No bond long jail term
Imagine being arrested and sent to jail for selling a product that is legal in half of the other States in the US. Sure, it is illegal in NC and breaking the law should have consequences, but it is kinda silly. If anything, at least they can get him for tax evasion.
Sorry Chris but your liberal view is comical at the very least. If it had been an ounce or less then yes it would be silly but 56 pounds means he is not only a dealer but trafficking in illegal drugs, which creates a lot of other crimes and social issues for our community. If he wants to deal pot he should have moved to a state where it’s legal then no problem. Maybe you can go into your AI search and give us an 8 paragraph explanation with stats and charts to justify your opinion
For those paying attention, this is not unusual, nor special, but it IS an election year. Expect lots of press releases about the everyday, tons of embellished mediocrity, a few special moments, and loads of BS from the sheriff.
Bingo!
Shouldn’t it be FeedNweed?
It ain’t the part where is it legal or not. He’s not paying taxes on income. Go buy the stamps. Report all income just like I did my entire life.
$25K bond = he or someone paid a bondsman probably $2500 or a maximum $3750 to get out of jail and get back in business. Our District Attorney will take at least a year to prosecute his case. How many times will he be re-arrested before that year? That’s why crime is so bad in Guilford County. Drug dealers shoot each other over who is controlling the drug market, that’s where innocent citizens get hit by stray gunfire and nothing is done about it. It is a failure of the Criminal Justice system. The magistrate should have put at least a $300,000 bond on him since he had that amount of cash laying around.
let’s sell it where it’s legal to help fund our schools ?
I’ll agree with an exception. . .get rid of the bloated administrative staff in the school system. Yes, I’m over 70 and our high school had a couple of secretaries, one principal and one asst principal, and then teachers (sports coaches were teachers too). No guidance counselors or other feel-good type of jobs which is one reason why education has become a bloated bureaucracy.
Cracks me up when boomers make blanket statements like this as if today’s US social economic circumstances are anything like they were back in the 60’s. For example, in the 60’s poor black kids (and even many low-income rural schools) needs were largely ignored. Poverty impacts kids in so many ways and having ‘extra’ school administrative jobs is required to properly protect these vulnerable kids.
In addition, ESEA had a major impact on schools by increasing federal and state control which required additional administrative staff for testing, compliance audits etc….
But sure boomer. Let’s go back to one room schoolhouses with just one teacher. THAT will be cheaper.
Best Wishes.
schoolkids screen use could be tweaked so that they use it to interact with teacher, internet, sites, fellow students etc. classroom/school infrastructure should disappear freeing up $ for TEACHER pay? it bugs me that both parents today must work leaving ‘parenting’ to stranger daycare during the kids waking hours. EDU achievement scores are < because parent stakeholders can't afford to stay home & raise their children; this is the tragedy of our present culture. home schooling succeeds with ZERO infrastructure.
