On Monday, May 12, the Guilford County Parks Department announced everything you need to know regarding the pools run by the county and what the summer water fun schedule and fees will look like.
First things first: Guilford County Parks Aquatic Centers at Bur-Mil Park, Hagan-Stone Park and Northeast Park will open on Memorial Day weekend.
Pools will be open weekends-only until Sunday, June 8.
Here’s the Memorial Day weekend schedule:
- Saturday, May 24: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, May 25: Noon to 5 p.m.
- Monday, May 26: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Then, beginning on Monday, June 9, the aquatic centers at Bur-Mil Park and Hagan-Stone Park will be open seven days a week through Sunday, Aug. 17.
Northeast Park will open its aquatic center on a seven-day schedule beginning Monday, June 16, through Sunday, Aug. 17.
Here’s the seven-day schedule for the pools:
- Monday through Thursday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.
Guilford County Parks Director Dwight Godwin said he hopes a lot of county residents come out and enjoy the cool water and spraygrounds this summer.
“We are excited to unveil the 2025 season schedule for the Guilford County Aquatic Centers,” Godwin said in a prepared statement this week. “Our team is eager to welcome guests back to our family-friendly facilities. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the pool, enjoy quality time with your children, or take a refreshing dip, we’re looking forward to greeting guests at our three aquatic centers for a fun summer of water play and activities.”
Sometimes in the past the county has had trouble getting enough lifeguards to run all the pools during all planned hours; however, that doesn’t appear to be an issue this year.
Here’s some additional info…
All aquatic centers in the county will go to weekend-only hours beginning Saturday, Aug. 23, and ending Monday, Sept. 1.
The aquatic center at Bur-Mil Park will close early at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 and Tuesday, July 1 for swim meets, while the aquatic center at Northeast Park will close early at 3 p.m. for the annual fireworks event.
Also, the county aquatic centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the following holidays:
- Memorial Day, Monday, May 26
- Juneteenth, Thursday, June 19
- Independence Day, Friday, July 4
- Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1
All aquatic centers feature a beach-entry and toddler slide as well as spray features.
Hagan-Stone Park has a 22-foot slide with multiple turns, while Bur-Mil Park and Northeast Park feature diving boards.
All of the pools will observe special hours for county holidays and special events.
You can visit guilfordcountync.gov/swim for more specific information.
There will, of course, be a reasonable cost for using the county’s pools.
This year during pool season, admission is $6 for guests aged 13 and older, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for children under 2.
If you swim frequently, you can save money by purchasing a 2025 Aquatic Center Discount Pass for $40. Discount passes will allow visitors 10-weekday entries into Bur-Mil Park, Hagan-Stone Park, or Northeast Park Aquatic Centers (excluding holidays). Passes can be purchased in person at the parks beginning Saturday, May 24.
Here are some other things county parks officials want you to know:
- To avoid large crowds, guests are encouraged to visit during weekday, non-peak hours. General admission reservations will not be accepted in advance.

many people run/walk around lake brandt. consider swimming across segments where creeks enter the lake. what fun on a hot summer day ! it’s already there for the discreet/capable @ no cost to anyone. is lindley park pool fixed ?
When will Lindley park get fixed or did we spend all the money tax payers money on Skips cousins non proffits again
Skip has nothing to do with Lindley pool. That is a City of Greensboro property and thus, funds are allocated by the city. Place blame where it belongs.
Carboro Man there are quite a few people on here that don’t know the difference between county and city government. Maybe Guilford Community College could offer a refresher course in civics
