The annual Guilford County Law Enforcement Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 19, at 11 a.m. outside the Melvin Municipal Office Building in downtown Greensboro to honor law enforcement officers from Guilford County who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The service, hosted by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, will recognize 27 fallen officers.

During the ceremony, the name of each officer will be read aloud while an agency representative places a rose on a memorial wreath in the officer’s honor.

Family members of fallen officers are expected to attend along with representatives from law enforcement agencies across Guilford County and the state.

Agencies participating in the memorial service include the Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Gibsonville Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, North Carolina Department of Public Safety, North Carolina Department of Justice, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, North Carolina State Parks, UNC Greensboro Police Department, NC A&T State University Police Department, Piedmont Triad International Airport Police Department and High Point University Police Department.

The memorial service will take place at the entrance to the Melvin Municipal Office Building, located at 300 W. Washington St. in Greensboro.
