The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a 47-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Colfax, and a suspect was arrested a few hours later after a short vehicle pursuit.
According to information released by the Office, deputies were called to 8810 Boylston Road at about 7:49 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Derrick Lamont Leach, 47, dead from what the Sheriff’s Office described as an apparent gunshot wound.
His family has been notified.
Investigators quickly identified 27-year-old Jose Cristian Bravo-Martinez as the suspected shooter.
The Sheriff’s Office also received information that the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle.
At about 10:15 a.m., patrol deputies spotted Martinez and attempted a traffic stop. That led to a short pursuit before deputies took him into custody.
Martinez is facing a long list of charges, including felony first-degree murder and felony possession of a stolen vehicle. He’s also charged with two counts of felony robbery with a deadly weapon, felony fleeing to elude arrest – and several misdemeanor driving offenses, including no operator’s license, reckless driving, speeding and an expired operator’s license.
He’s being held in the Guilford County Detention Center in High Point under no bond.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that there’s no ongoing threat to the community. Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact Detective T. English at 336-641-2570 or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.

That really is weird. If you search under any Hispanic name, they show up as white under race. I looked it up and turns out that in the US, Hispanic people are legally considered White. The reason is that Hispanic can be any number of races…So when you fill out race on an online application you first select if you are Hispanic or non-Hispanic. Then you select the next level of race as white, black, etc…
So it turns out that the sheriff department is actually handling the same as the US census does except, they aren’t show the first criteria of Hispanic or Non-Hispanic.
Bit complicated but makes sense to a degree. So, no conspiracy theory if you actually take the time to look it up. Give it a try sometime. Learning is fun.

Ever met a white Hispanic? I have. My coworker is from Brazil but is never looked at as Hispanic by bigoted conservatives (he is even more a liberal than me) because his skin color is as white as mine. Then I ask, have you ever met a black Hispanic? Again, I have a coworker you would call black but is from Brazil and actually identifies as Hispanic.
Now it gets really interesting. Not all Americans from Brazilian heritage identify as his Hispanic (about 60% do). Why? because Hispanic isn’t a race in the same way we identify White, Black, Asian as race that is easily identifiable by difference in appearance given the range of cultural groups that identify as Hispanic. Now imagine you have Caucasian skin color and your mother is from Brazil and your father is from US. Are you Non-Hispanic White or Hispanic White as your race?
Kinda a pain. So, it makes sense that it is easier to just call Hispanics White from a race perspective. But agree that it is very confusing.

Do I think Hispanic people are white? If you use reading comprehension skills through the comment string, I was surprised by this classification as well. But with simple use of the internet I found the explanation of why the federal government does classify them as white. Kinda an interest challenge given that Hispanic itself is NOT a race as multiple races exist under the Hispanic umbrella. Not complicated to see the complication of the question. So yes, SOME Hispanics are white, some are not.
The Sheriff’s office would do better to label race by Non-Hispanic and Hispanic classifications as does the US census and most online job applications. I just assume they are more concerned about catching bad guys then about race classification issues as defined by the federal government.

The most recent evolutionary development in humans is the emergence of blue eyes, approximately 3000-4000 years ago in an area we would call Western Russia today. Even now, about 90 per cent of Estonia’s and Finland’s people are blue-eyed. Prior to this, all humans had brown/dark eyes.

More importantly, humans have not existed as separate populations long enough to evolve into distinct subspecies or biological races. 2) The idea of who is more evolved assumes a goal or finish line that doesn’t exist. Evolution is NOT a linear progression with a goal or and end point that some groups are closer to reach than others. The term ‘evolved’ in scientific context refers to adaptation to specific environment, not general ‘superiority’ or ‘advancement’. Different groups of people have undergone unique adaptations to local conditions (for example high-altitude adaptation in Tibetans
So why did people in one part of the word develop society structures and skills faster than other parts of the world?
Take The Americas versus Eurasia differences for example. The fertile crescent in the Middle East had an abundance of high-calorie, protein rich wild plants and the ‘major five’ domesticable large mammals (cows, horses, sheep, goats and pigs). North America had far more limitations. They had fewer species suitable for large-scale domestication. The only large animal was the dog. Another major factor was the exchange of ideas and technology. Europe benefited immensely from a vast, continuous ‘pre-existing web of trade across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The Americas had significant barriers and its north-south axis versus Eurasia’s east-west axis limited the density of populations and the scope of trade networks thus slowing the widespread exchange of technologies between different societies.
Real world examples that prove you wrong with basic observations of fact:
There are numerous examples of people brought to the America as slaves from Africa (which you love to claim was less evolved as a race) yet once exposed to education became highly recognized intellectuals. Frederick Douglass is my favorite example. He escaped slavery and educated himself enough to become a leading orator, writer, and abolitionist having authored 3 influential books and founded his own newspaper, the North Star. So you don’t claim this an anomaly, look into the history of great people such as Sojourner Truth, Booker T Washington, Henry Highland Garnet, JWC Pennington, or Harriet Jacobs.
So go ahead. Explain how these people who were brought over from lessor ‘evolved’ societies able to become such upstanding intellectuals in their contribution the history of the United States so quickly? Were their genetics altered by the ships that brought them here? Were their genetics altered by the hard work and diets given to slaves? Nope. They were equally evolved humans exposed to new cultural experiences and skills and put them to use as anyone from anywhere else in the world of any race would have done.

Why did some races develop advanced societies and civilizations, while others did not?
Because they were more intelligent. Those who were too idle or stupid to adapt, and prepare for brutal winters just perished, leaving a pool of higher intelligence DNA remaining. These more intelligent humans reproduced with the other more resilient survivors, progressively increasing the intelligence of their gene pool over millennia, like compound interest.
This explains why Northern Orientals like the Japanese and Northern Chinese are so smart. And why those who remained in Africa are not.

The Jewish population peaked in the 1920’s apparently, and mostly came from Russia and the Baltic States. They were industrious and enterprising and became a great asset to the city (including the famous British chain store Marks & Spencer which got its start in Leeds City Market).

So if it helps, I just consider you a racist based on your erroneous anti-scientific view that some races are more genetically evolved than others. Oh, and of course I also identify you as a bigot given your referencing the LGBTQ community as ‘deviants’ as if that word doesn’t have a negative connotation. Lastly, I label you a ‘nutter’ for willfully ignoring scientific input in the formation of your views on things that science has studied and long-established a consensus supported by data and multiple peer reviewed studies such as the topic of climate change, vaccine effectiveness and safety, genetic diversity, etc.. etc… etc…
