A power outage shut down a number of Guilford County government offices in High Point on Tuesday, Aug. 12 – forcing residents who need immediate in-person help to head to Greensboro instead.
The outage has affected county services at 325 E. Russell Ave., including the Board of Elections, Child Support, Register of Deeds, Social Services, Tax and Veterans Services offices.
County officials said Tuesday that those who need assistance can still use the county’s Greensboro offices during regular weekday business hours. Some services are also available online at GuilfordCountyNC.gov.
This is a role reversal of what happened last week: On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the Guilford County Health and Human Services building, including Social Services, at 1203 Maple St. in Greensboro, was closed due to a power outage.
At that time, residents were told to use the High Point offices.
