First things first: City of Greensboro offices will of course be closed on Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Also, there will be no city garbage or recycling collections on July 4.

Friday’s collections took place on Thursday, July 3, and Thursday’s collections took place on Wednesday, July 2. (All other collections remain the same.)

The White Street Landfill and Solid Waste Transfer Station will be closed on July 4.

The Greensboro Public Libraries, Greensboro History Museum, and Greensboro Cultural Center will all be closed on July 4.

On Friday, the Greensboro Transit Agency will operate on a weekend schedule from 6 a.m. –10 p.m.

Crossmax bus service will operate on a 30-minute frequency, and the Hopper Trolley will provide normal service.

Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department’s administrative offices, recreation centers, the Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation section, Greensboro Youth Council, Smith and Trotter Active Adult Centers, Xperience @ Caldcleugh, and Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion will be closed on July 4.

However, City of Greensboro parks, gardens, lakes, trails, cemeteries, the Greensboro Sportsplex, and Gillespie Golf Course will remain open on their normal operating schedules.

The Melvin Municipal Office Building and J. Edward Kitchen Operations Center are closed to all in-person services on July 4. Alternative ways to pay your water bill can be found at greensboro-nc.gov/PayWaterBill.
