The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is going to do battle with a Greensboro barber shop in a game that will take place on the hardwood and help out school kids as well.

The Department is taking on Heads Up Barber and Beauty for the “7th Annual Back-to-School Rally” basketball game which will feature some friendly competition – and also provide a way to get needed school supplies into the hands of kids returning to the classroom after their summer vacation.

The charity basketball game will feature the Heads Up Barbers against members of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department and local firefighters.

The free event will be hosted by DJ Jimmy Jamz and there will be a lot entertainment on as well.

The cops and firefighters game against Heads Up Barber and Beauty Basketball Game will take place Sunday, Aug. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum at 1921 W. Gate City Blvd.

There will be giveaways of free book bags and school supplies for the kids as well as a youth basketball skills training session hosted by Triad Basketball Academy. There will also be a youth cheer showcase as well as motivational speakers for the kids.

In addition, health and educational resources will be provided at the event – not to mention, what the Sheriff’s Department is calling “a host of surprises.”

The department has put out the following call to the community: “Help Heads Up send our youth back to school with the supplies and resources needed for a great school year!”
