Trampoline Park At Golden Gate Shopping Center To Hold Grand Opening

  If you’re a fan of bouncing up and down on a trampoline, you’ll be glad to hear that Altitude Trampoline Park in Greensboro is holding its ribbon-cutting and grand-opening next week. The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. while the grand opening will be the following day, on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11  a.m.  Both events are at 2268 Golden Gate Dr. in Golden Gate Shopping Center.

State Health Officials Give The 411 On Vaccinating Kids

Some of the same people who didn’t want a COVID-19 vaccine for themselves probably won’t want it for their children either. However, on Wednesday, Nov. 3 state health officials sent out formal notice of the availability of the vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 and provided details on how to get your kids vaccinated.

Guilford County’s Mask Mandate Likely To Be Lifted Nov. 15

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners met virtually at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Based on the discussion, all indications are that the mandate will be lifted on Monday, Nov. 15 when the commissioners meet as the Guilford County Board of Health. (The Board of Commissioners became the county’s Board of Health about eight years ago when the commissioners voted the previous Board of Health out of existence.)

Greensboro-based Guerrilla RF, a wireless semiconductor provider, has announced its expansion into a 50,000-square-foot facility at 2000 Pisgah Church Road.  The growth will mean $6 million in new investment and 50 new jobs for area workers.

Guilford County Employees All Get 5 Percent Pay Raise

The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to give all Guilford County employees a 5 percent pay increase starting in mid-November.  The increase means the employees will not get a previously scheduled 3 percent pay increase in January 2022 since this 5 percent pay increase replaces and enhances that.

On Monday, Oct. 18, Guilford County commissioners met via Zoom with the local delegation of state legislators to make requests of the state, and one very interesting request was for the legislators to change state law and allow security officers employed by Guilford County to carry guns in the courthouse.

State’s Economic Developer Community Gathers At Grandover

On Tuesday, Oct. 12 and Wednesday, Oct. 13, the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) held its fall conference at the popular luxury resort.  Participants had their choice of showing up in person or participating online.  About 250 attendees were physically present at Grandover, while another 30 or so took part virtually.

HPU Christmas Eve Worship Service To Be Broadcast Nationally

The university is encouraging everyone to “get into the Christmas spirit early” at High Point University, where ABC’s National Christmas Eve Worship Service will be filmed on Tuesday, Oct. 26.   HPU leaders say this is a chance for the community  to “come together as a congregation and experience the wonder of ABC’s National Christmas Eve Worship Service.”
