This message is for the teachers and parents that attended the county commissioners’ meeting the other week and insisted on what they call full funding for the schools. Well, I’m here to tell you, you went to the wrong place. The schools are being fully funded. Thirty-percent of the entire state budget goes to schools, along with $674 million in the state education lottery. You’ve got the money. And it’s in the hands of the school administration in Raleigh and Guilford County. And they claim that they fund from the bottom up. Now, if this is true, if they truly do fund from the bottom up, there would never be a lack of any kind in the classroom. You’d have plenty of supplies, good buildings and well-paid teachers. The lack would be at the administrative level. But it’s not. Put two and two together. But wait, maybe you’re a product of the North Carolina school system and can’t do that.

Yeah, your headline on the June 14 paper here says schools are squeaky wheels that hope their palms get greased. Well, let’s think about the money that would have gone to public schools that our Republican legislature has decided to give to for-profit schools. So, now, part of your tax dollars that are supposed to go toward educating children goes in somebody’s pocket before any child is educated at a charter school. If we take away the charter school funds, and put them back into public schools, the public schools might not need as much money. So, if we quit taking them away and giving the money to rich people, then we do not have the problems that we are going through now with our schools. As I watch CBS News sympathetically portray the plight of illegal immigrants who choose to deliberately break into the United States, I wonder why the liberals take up for them. Yes, these people had a hard life in Ecuador or wherever. Most of the world’s people have a hard life because their governments refuse to implement free market capitalism, which is the only way out of poverty. Their third world governments cling to the discredited creed of a long dead German whose theories caused great misery and wholesale mass murder. The taxpayers of this city should be outraged of how their tax money is distributed to these people. For instance, it looks like firefighters make anywhere from $32,000 a year to $112,000 a year. Now, keep in mind, these people only work about 100 days a year. So, if you make $32,000 a year divided by 100 days, that’s $320 a day. The ones that are making $100,000 a year are working only 100 days a year. They are making $1,000 a day. Please show me a firefighter who’s worth $1,000 a day.

I recently read that since Roe v. Wade became unfortunately law in Jan. 1973, there have been approximately 61 million babies aborted in the United States. Absolutely horrendous. I wanted to point out that if those were American citizens being arrested, and their children were with them, those children would not be sent to prison with them. They would be sent to Social Services. What is the big deal? Let me tell you something. When I was in the sixth grade my dad broke the law and was sentenced to the West Virginia penitentiary for 10 years. At that time nobody from the local state government or local churches came to check on me and my little brother or to offer help or support or free stuff for medical care for us and my mother. My mother got a job in a laundry making $20 a week and supported us. No help from government or any well-meaning politicians, etc. Now, we have all these politicians and do-gooders wanting to bring in all those illegal children and families to the US and expect citizens of this country to support them, provide food, shelter, medical care and education for all of them. How about the US citizens, helping US citizens who need help instead of bringing in illegal people? Let them go to their government and their home, and let their government take care of them.
