You brave people that want to tote around a gun so you can protect someone from someone else with a gun. That’s fine. But as soon as the shooting starts, you need to jump up, get the shooter’s attention and let him know that you have a gun, and you’re going to be shooting back so that you distract him, and you are the one being fired on since you are so brave. That would show me that you really are true in what you say that I want to help protect people from someone with a gun. Then put yourself in the line of fire. Yes, I was wondering. When is our new congressman, Ted Budd, going to put an actual office in Greensboro? You know, he is now the Greensboro congressman. Another thing. Why does Walker still have an office down by Woman’s Hospital on Greene Street when he’s no longer in this district? Looks like he’d move his office to Summerfield or old Oak Ridge, or somewhere like in that area. Kind of funny. He’s in another congressman’s district. He’s got his office there, and the congressman in this district doesn’t have an office here. That’s kind of strange, isn’t it? But, anyway, not trying to be anti-Walker or anything, but you know Walker is no longer our congressman, Ted Budd is. It would be nice if Budd would have an office in Greensboro instead of Walker.

Last year on June 6, the 72nd anniversary of D-Day, I went to Bedford, Virginia, to honor true American heroes at the National D-Day Memorial. I will never forget three D-Day veterans I had the distinct honor to briefly speak with and to thank them profusely for what they did that day. One veteran had tears in his eyes because, as he told me, he was literally horrified of the thought of Hillary habitual-liar Rodham Clinton winning last year’s election on Nov. 8. I regret to this day I didn’t get his name in some way to reach him as I literally have prayed that he lived to see her defeat. He told me he would be OK for God to take him after the election if she lost. He said his mind would be at ease then. I will never forget my brief time with him.

I’m a Libertarian, and what people do is their business, but when they purposefully run red lights, that becomes my, and other people’s, business. Possibly serious business. I’ve seen other Beep callers complain about red light runners, and I have personally seen why. It’s getting ridiculous out there. I’m getting tired of seeing drivers race to the light to beat the yellow and don’t. Even worse, drivers that don’t care and just go through a red light seconds after it’s already turned. I’ve been hit by a driver that ran a red light, and he was, quote, concentrating on his coffee. That’s what he told the police officer. Oh, then that makes it OK, even though you could have killed someone? Drivers, be careful out there. Follow the rules made for safety. The two minutes you save in time running a red light driving to Starbucks is not worth the risk of your life and others. I’m not a big fan of self-driving cars, nor red-light cameras, but I might be changing my mind soon. This is Logic.

Coach K banning his team from the locker room and forbidding them to wear Duke apparel is a cheap trick. He said he did it because they did not play, quote, Duke basketball, end quote. But let’s be honest. He did it because they lost those games. He put winning above everything else just as he did when he quickly reinstated Grayson Allen. I was just reading the News & Record, and it occurred to me how much time and money Greensboro spends on things that cannot be changed. A case in point regards Rufus Scales, who was awarded a settlement from the city to appease his hurt feelings because of dealing with a police officer. He’s now in jail for felony breaking and entering and other charges. That also goes for Mr. Yourse. I can’t remember his first name. We spend so much time looking into things that really are not of merit. Slavery is an abhorrent thing. Harm to anyone should be unthinkable. But let me suggest there are many things abhorrent happening right now. Black and white kids are being trafficked into slavery today here in Greensboro. Failing schools, especially black schools. Hairston Middle School is a good example.

This is to the person who called in saying that the reason there is no Section 8 housing in the well-to-do neighborhoods is because Section 8 housing breeds poor people, and poor people breeds crime and drugs. Hi. We got rid of all of the sweepstakes with the computers, but we now have all these fish games all around Greensboro that are still ran by a computer. Why should a person have to drive to Kernersville, Thomasville, Winston-Salem or Burlington to play a sweepstakes game on a real computer? The fish game is the same. You still have to give them money to play the game. Even if it says skill game, it’s still operated by a computer that sets the level of the skill that you can win. Can someone, please, answer this?
