On National Geographic I was watching Obama, and Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs, which a nuclear bomb today is 60-some times more powerful than those atomic bombs. And Hillary Clinton sold uranium to Russia that you can build these bombs out of. And they’ve let Iran have it. And people cried and they’re upset because Hillary Clinton didn’t get to be the president of the United States. This country needs an awakening. Somebody needs to tell them exactly how much sense that woman’s got. She is absolutely don’t know what’s going on, and why Obama let her do it, and why the government let her do it, I do not know. But that’s a fact. She sold it to them.

I believe that Donald Trump is an amazing person. Also believe he is one of these people that could get anything done that he wants done. He can do anything that he wants to do, anything that he puts his mind to. When you tell him he can’t do anything, or do something, it just gets him going. Just look at his accomplishments over the years. And, then, to top it all off, he was able to beat the Clinton machine in the election. Something they said would never happen. So, to his critics, I would like to say, just keep laughing at him. You can either get on board with him and most of the American people and move the country forward, or you can continue to laugh and snicker and act your little foolish ways and show the American public how foolish and two-faced hypocritical you really are.

Hello. I’m calling in regards to the vote going on for Neil Gorsuch, the Supreme Court nominee. And I’m sitting here watching the votes. The Democratic Party has basically knocked him out of getting it without the nuclear vote going down. I think it’s really a shame that this has taken place in front of the American people who put these people in there to do their job. I think that what’s happening in Washington, DC, is just really a failure. These people that the American people vote for to go up there, and we pay our tax money to send up there, are not doing their job. And we are really getting shortchanged. Our money is not being spent like it’s supposed to be. And we’re not getting the bills put forth like they should be. It’s just a stagnated bunch of mess.

- Let me get this straight. OK. Pat McCrory, a Republican and for HB2. And Roy Cooper ran on the opposite on the HB2 on the Democratic ticket. Roy Cooper overthrows McCrory because of the HB2 and, then, now it looks like he has flip-flopped and became a Republican by doing, Roy Cooper’s basically endorsing and voting and doing the same way and the same thing as Pat McCrory. So, this makes no sense. Why did we vote for Cooper considering he was going to vote and act different? And, then, once we get him in there, he flip-flops on us and becomes a closet Republican. You know, I’m just about sick to death about this whole VA thing. My father is 89 years old and in ailing – his health is failing him. He was in the Korean War. He is a Purple Heart recipient. And he can’t get anything from them because they tell him that he gets a little bit of Social Security and a little bit of pension. He makes too much money. Are you kidding me? And all these people running around here getting free education and helping the VAs and helping the veterans. My father was a veteran. Somebody, please, give me a name out there and a number to help me out here. I’m at my wit’s end about this. My father has never asked for a penny from the government, not even for his medicine or nothing. And he can’t get anything. But you got people running around here getting everything under the sun for free. They get money every month from the government, and it just makes me so mad.

All politicians and city leaders rave about what a great driver of development the Downtown Greenway is. However, they fail to fund the timely completion of it. The only thing that’s being funded is retirement of the Greenway project manager, in return and reward of almost 20 years of service for successful completion of only one mile of greenway. Incredible. Good idea, but typical government execution. There’s plenty of fluff in the Greensboro city budget to completely fund completion. If we can find the extra money in the budget to purchase and demolish the YWCA, and if Matt Brown can build most of the White Oak Amphitheater without identified funds, maybe Matt Brown should take on the Downtown Greenway. Nope, it would expand to 20 miles and be three times the budget like the projects for the performance arts center. Welcome to Greensboro.

Hey. I live in District 13, and I noticed my congressman has his office in District 6. Walker lives in Summerfield. Summerfield and Gibsonville is about the only thing in Guilford County that’s in his district. You know, Ted Budd is basically our new congressman for District 6, which is about 87 percent of Greensboro if not more. And a lot of us are just wondering that live in the 13th, is he going to stay hanging out in the 6th district and living in the past, or is he going to move into his district and open an office out there where he can help the people from Summerfield and Gibsonville? Actually, he needs to put an office in Summerfield, get off of down there at Battleground.

I’m wondering if you are going to follow that rule as far as all that you published in your newspaper, which I usually think is a very fine newspaper. But looking at the review of the Grand Budapest Hotel movie, I think that movie in itself is in very poor taste, and it probably shouldn’t even be reviewed other than just to say, don’t see it. Donald Trump will stack the Supreme Court with conservative judges. The Republicans will pick up more seats in the mid-term, it looks like. And I’m sorry, but it’s over for the Democrats. If the Democrats think they’re powerless now, just give it a few years. The Democrats are acting like a bunch of little whiny crybabies. Bruce Springsteen said with a clear conscious he can’t perform in North Carolina because of HB2. But, yet, when the couple from Alabama who owned a bakery said with a clear conscious they couldn’t make a gay wedding cake, they were chastised and run out of business. So, the left, they’re entitled to their conscious, and their beliefs, but the right is not. The left needs to practice a little bit of tolerance toward those who don’t believe like they do. I just went down Bessemer Avenue headed toward Elm Street. Here comes a man on the wrong side of the road, runs the red light. Still on the wrong side of the road, went between me and another car. Was on the wrong side of the road going towards Church Street. Where’s all the police cars at? You never see them until 10 or 11 o’clock. I’m telling you, somebody doesn’t start doing something about these fools, people are going to die. Citizens of Greensboro, start writing in. I see somebody has already called in about Bessemer. You need to keep it going. We got to stop this. People got to get rid of that City Council. I’ve talked to two police officers. They say their hands are tied, not by our police chief but by the City Council. They have no right to judge what he does. The city managers are supposed to take care of that. They need to get rid of these people. Our streets are not safe. They won’t let the police do their job.
